Catchin' Up!

I’ve had my nose in these Twilight books for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately I finished them awhile ago and now need to replace the empty spot in my soul with something else. Dreams of vampires! Hehe. Well, since that hasn’t been my excuse over the last week and a half I’d have to say….I had to catch up on all the work I neglected during my Twilight days. Which explains my lack of blogging. I decided I would take a moment to catch up on my blog. I can't catch up on everything but I'll try to this week. Here goes:

Happy Birthday to Us! Let's take the day off!

Cami and I decided we deserved a break from work and school. So for our birthdays we took the day off. It was a blast and so relaxing to not have to worry about school or being anywhere. We started the day off with some delicious breakfast from Hash House A Go Go. If you haven't been you should go- DELICIOUS!Woah! Look at these breakfasts! Delicious cinnamon banana french toast for Cami and vanilla waffles for me below. Yummy! The gross part is I actually ate it all. I know...disgusting, huh?

It's pedicure time! Yay...we love pedicures and not knowing what they're saying about our toes! I was a little ticklish!Our cute little toesies with their beautiful artwork.

Night out with Friends

Some friends from work invited us out with them. Perhaps we wouldn't have gone if we would have known what we were getting into. We went to this bar & grill called "Dick's"- where they are paid to be rude and obnoxious and a little vulgar. It was a good time because we were with friends. I will only post appropriate pictures.After asking for a refill, our server brought out Rhiannon's ice tea in this pitcher just for her. They just come and slam it down and then go on their way. Then he brought Aaron's drink in a bucket-I think they drank it all too. Bathroom break anyone?
Ezra and I, thinking, we're too nice to belong in a rude place like this. Ezra had a difficult time with all the rudeness at first. Then he realized that was the point, and got over it. We went bowling after that but...of course I didn't take any pictures of that. I bowled a 146....oh yeah...soon to be champion bowler!

Crazy Hair Day!

We had crazy hair day at school, unfortunately, I can't post pictures of my students.... however, if I must say, I think I pretty much had the coolest hair of all the adults. Cami's comes in pretty close, but it had my help so that counts I guess. Needless to say, one of the other teachers got me a babysitting job with her neighbor. She says on the phone, "She comes highly recommended. She is great with kids." Then I remembered what I looked like and hoped I would have enough time to wash my hair before knocking on the strangers' door to babysit their child.
Crazy #1 and Crazy #2-who are all these crazy teachers? No wonder their kids are out of control! I mean what can I really expect (look at their role model).

Help Fight Against Poverty and Vote

Hey everyone who reads my blog please do this it takes like 1 minute. My sister Ashley states, "For the past year I have been volunteering for AmeriCorps VISTA working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. I am almost at the end of my year of service, and have loved being able to serve my country in fighting poverty. I entered a video contest for AmeriCorps with the help from my brother, and they picked our video as one of the top five finalist. The winner of the contest receives a volunteer vacation to travel to another country and serve those in need. I would get the chance possibly to go educate women in India, travel the Amazon river stopping to help small local villages with medical issues, or go to Africa to help in orphanages.

I'm Addicted!

Last weekend, I had the whole weekend off. A rare occasion from my busy life with 3 jobs. I almost always work Saturdays. Well this particular Saturday I took off to help my sister in law, but there was a last minute change in plans. I have to say it was very nice to have a day off with nothing really on the agenda. On Friday, I was babysitting little Kellen, 5 months old-I feel like I practically stole the money. I did nothing most the night. Kellen and I played/ate for about 45 minutes and then he slept the rest of the night. What did I do for the few hours while he slept? Alright, alright, I'll admit it-I finally joined the vampire groupies and I'm ecstatic I did. I started Twilight that night and couldn't put it down-I read it all weekend (doing my hair-reading, putting makeup on-reading, walking down the street-reading). I have been told by many it is so great and now it's consuming all my thoughts. I need the next book and haven't gotten a hold of it yet and it's killing me. I will now add my urge to all those that haven't read the book-READ IT! I heard "vampire" and it immediately turned me off, but do not let that fool you. It is a wonderfully written book and the characterization is great.

I found an article in Time where they interviewed the author. It was mentioned that the Stephenie Meyer is an observant mormon who doesn't drink alcohol, etc. She was quoted as saying, "It's about keeping yourself free of addictions. We have free will, which is a huge gift from God. If you tie that up with something like, I don't know, cocaine, then you don't really have a lot of freedom anymore." The definition of addicted is: to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively.

I find this very ironic because we are warned to stay away from addictive substances in the church, but she has now written such an addictive book (in a way) that I am obsessively thinking about it all the time. I have told everyone about it...I even gave up sleep to read it. Waking up at 7:30 when I didn't have to wake up until 10:00 just so I could keep reading. It has made it's way into my dreams and every where I look something reminds me of it.

I know a lot of you may think I'm crazy, I probably am! I have come to accept that in my life. Just read it and see if you don't fall prey to it.

Oops...I think I forgot I had a blog!

I am a little ashamed of my lack of bloginess. Perhaps it's been because I've had a burst of craziness with school and everything else. Although, you could mix it with a stint of laziness also. I have started a few posts but just never got around to finishing them. I know....I have broken the Blogging Rules of Conduct.
